Anne, How sad that things went downhill so fast. Even when the progression goes slowly, dealing with this disease is so darn hard--when it goes so quickly, how in the world can one adjust? Hoping that you can find acceptance--as natsmom said--doing as well as you can be.

Can't believe everything happened so fast, but maybe that's what we need to be ready for. This blasted disease is full of surprises. My thoughts and prayers are with you. What is the deal with a Residential Group Home? Is it like a nursing home but smaller? I hadn't heard of it for ALZ, but maybe I just missed it. how is he doing there?

Anne, post the website for your residential group home again. Today, the Hospice nurse told me about one outside of Houston (toward Hempstead/Waller, Natsmom) that she thought was absolutely beautiful! Rolling countryside, and they have 4 residents now with three caregivers. They have room for about four or six more people, and they charge about $2200-2600/month, I was told. OMG! That's amazing!

Thanks for the info, Nancy B...that particular one outside of Houston would be 4-hours from us :( Much too far for me to visit on a regular basis, but it might work for you, should the need arise. It's good that the Hospice people are helping you in such a great way!
