I just wrote a response, and it disappeared. Probably forgot to hit the "add comments" tab. Anyway, we are not at that point yet, but many of our member's spouses are. You are not alone. There are comments all through the message boards about this issue. Divvi has some particularly good stories. Mary, want to tell "d" about the boat tender incident when we were going ashore from the cruise ship?

Joan, that one was easy compared to the others, because I didn't have to clean it up! Plus no one knew it except Diane, who pretended she didn't know him at the time in case someone did notice! Both dog beds that are in our room hav been "christened" on different occasions (cost me $25.00 each to have them cleaned at the laundromat) - strangely, the dogs took it in stride. The foot of the bed seems to be where he thinks the toilet is most of the time, however, now that he is weak, I have to help him up from the bed and hold both hands to lead him to the toilet, so I don't have as much clean up duty during the night now. For a while it was twice a night. And I was putting a lot of paste wax on my hardwood floors to protect them. Thank goodness we didn't have carpet!!!!

Mine did it on the bathroom scales which were in the basement hall. The bathroom is about 6 ft away. Another day it was a pail in the laundry room but it hasn't happened since.

I had something similar happen here the other day. I was in my hallway by my laundry room and I smelled urine. I found something on the floor and cleaned it up but the smell didn't go away. After my help got here, she helped look and we found that he had pee'd in the garbage in the laundry room. Right now I am taking him to the bathroom every few hours like a 2 year old.

The first time for us was in the hallway. He got up during the night and I listened as he walked down the hall. Then I heard him. I got up and there was a small stream the length of the hall and a lake at the end. His response was, "I couldn't help it, it just came out". Lucky we have hardwood floors so it made it easier to clean. We've also hit the closet, the bathroom sink and always the floor around the toilet.

My husband peed in the trash can in the laundry room once. It was white. He lifted the lid as though it were the toilet seat and cut loose. When I saw him, before I could think, I yelled, "Are you peeing in the trash can?" That probably wasn't the correct way to handle it. Anyway, he was mortified that he had done that without thinking twice. I changed to a dark tan trash can and he has never done it again. Not sure if that was what helped or not.

My DH has peed in the closet. I guess he figures you open a door and go. Who knows what they think.

Mine peed once in the clothes hamper. I'd feel better if he'd admit it but when he does something wrong, he always denies it and blames it on "the kids". There are no kids in our house = ever. Divi did give me a good idea tho. I keep a towel on the floor around the toilet in case of misses.
