Can I come and live with you?

Joan-so glad things are finally going well. Let me know when you have time for visitors.

I wanna live where you do! I'd never cook again. Glad Sid appreciates what you've done for him (you, even more, but he might not recognize that:) )

Another week and I should be ready for visitors. Still have lots of boxes to unpack, and this move has worn me out. I did an errand this morning, and couldn't do another thing. I slept most of the afternoon. Sid came home from his fishing trip, and immediately fell asleep in his recliner.

    I can't believe I live here. :)

Joan if I ever get my strength back I'm moving down there too. Isn't it nice that Sid can appreciate all you've done. Good Job.

Joan, you've done an incredible job. What a decision to make by yourself, and to get the move organized and how well you've done it. Amazing. You get and A+ from me too! Are there lots of places like that in the States or is this just an incredible find?

    Wow. Nice going!
Sounds like such nice amenities. Mostly I'd like the part about having other people easily accessible and around.
Makes me wish there were a solution that made sense to me, for me, right now.
My recently widowed mom, who is 74, lives 2 miles down the road from me in her big ol' suburban house which she still wants because she wants to be able to accommodate my brother and family (or other guests) when they visit.
My sister lives 3 miles down the road in a recently acquired house which she needs because she's got 2 small kids, and 4 grown ones who drop in.
I live here, in my biggish house which will...as of next year...be populated 9 months out of 12 by me and the husband. (the four kids who will then be 18-24 will appear at junctures.)

I find it aggravating that, as relatively close geographically as we are, my mom, sis, and I don't intersect more often. We do dinners a couple times/month, see each other at another thing or so here and there, and drop stuff off at each others' homes, but the day to day grind can leave me feeling very isolated.

I seriously want to live on a compound. So that we don't get in each others' hair, or become annoyed by housekeeping habits, etc, but I really want to see more people coming and going.
