    Good Afternoon Everyone,

In response to various threads discussing the added burden and stress of severe financial difficulties while trying to cope with Alzheimer's Disease, I wrote a blog that hopefully, ties together a lot of good advice. I invite you to log onto the home page - www.thealzheimerspouse.com, and read today's blog.

Please post all comments and suggestions here - I hope to keep them all under one discussion for easier access.

W are fortunate in that our unemployment is seeing us through. The struggle will be when it runs out and all we have left will be his SS starting in November and both unemployments end. If I can't find part time work at the very least, it will be very tight. This October is when the motorhome tags, car insurance, motorhome insurance, life insurance all come due. Haven't figured out how to pay it all yet, but have a month plus. I am thankful he has medical through the VA otherwise he would have no medical care.

Great post, again, Joan. I know that when the bank, the fuel assistance clerk, and so many others heard my story and my honesty about my situation, real emotions come through and they go from just helping me to REALLY wanting to help! There are so many people out there who go around complaining about all the little thing that are wrong with their lives, they have no clue as to what real problems like all of ours are like. Just today, my insurance adjuster told me it was a pleasure to do business with someone who really needed help because I really had problems and wasn't feeling sorry for myself. In a weird way, I came away feeling better about it all, someone else got it!

So my friends, it can be tough to ask for help. Believe me it is HARD walking into a food pantry, but if you are upfront and honest about what you need, and you honestly share your story, there is help to be found.

Joan, incredible blog! In fact, it's probably one of your most important. Thank you! I realize over and over again, how truly fortunate DH and I are and how much we all need to have look out for each other.
