My 21 year old granddaughter is in grave condition in Cardiac ICU as she awaits a THIRD HEART TRANSPLANT. This time, her kidneys are failing, and they are going to begin dialysis. Although we have seen the miracle of a heart transplant save her life twice before in her young life (at 6 and 9 years of age), kidney failure was never an issue. A few of you have seen her picture. She's a vibrant and lovely young woman, engaged to be married.

Your thoughts and prayers will be sincerely appreciated. NancyB
Oh, Nancy B, my heart goes out to you and prayers going up for your whole family. My son is waiting for kidney and pancreas transplant - hasn't had to go on dialysis yet, thank goodness. Blessings.
Nancy, I am so sorry your Grandaughter is having a hard time. I have said a prayer that the doctors will be able to help her and that a suitable donor heart will become available soon. God Bless.
Nancy, As we all know, life just isn't fair is it? Especially in the case of someone so young having such serious health problems. You both are in my thoughts.
Nancy, many prayers are being said for your beautiful granddaughter. My Mom will light a candle on her statue of the Blessed Mother as she always does when special prayers are being said. As already said, maybe the 3rd time will be a charm. Arms around you all. Susan
Oh, my, Nancy.....I never knew! Yes, prayers here, too, for her and all of your family....and special gifting for the doctors' hands and the nursing staff that will be attending to her during the operations and recovery!
Nancy ~ So sorry to hear about this...very sad & hard to understand why to someone so very young...my hubby & I are sitting here together & I read this outloud to him...he said "that's so sad". We have prayed for ALL of you & for wisdom for the dr's and that a new heart will be found asap! Give hugs to your Krissy and tell her we are all praying for her! Much love, Debbie
So sorry to hear Nancy. How difficult this must be for your entire family. Good wishes for your Krissy. I hope the dialysis sustains her and her surgery is a success.
Update on Krissy....She's continuing to decline. Her kidneys are a major concern. Creatine level is up to 5.1 today..She is still in pain and has a Dilaudid drip and pump. The fluid build up is in her stomach (rather than feet and hands) and they are going to tap that today to try to get some relief there. The tap, in itself, could be problematic. If they don't remove it, the fluid in her stomach will press against her lungs and she faces the risk of pneumonia. She has so much fluid in her stomach, she looks pregnant. It doesn't look good at all for her - and I am so scared. She is the granddaughter that looks the most like me,acts like me and we seem to have telepathic communication. We've always been very close. It's so hard to pray for a donor heart - because when one does, it's like praying someone else will die to make one available. Huge heartache...and enormous fear. I'm beyond words. Thank you all for your wonderful notes. So kind of you.
nancy so VERY sorry its not looking well for her but keep faith there could be a turnaround -its just so unfair such a lovely girl and so very young. HUGS, divvi
Nancy, I just went to the web site and read the guestbook too.It seems she has many people praying for her (including me).I hope you'll keep us posted. Hugs and prayers go out to you too.
Nancy, I just went to the website and read the last update, along with some of the guestbook entries, and added my own. My hands are holding yours, and I'm with you in spirit.
Thank you all so much...and especially thank you for going to the Caring Bridge website. The messages in the Guestbook are read to her every day and it means so much to me that my friends from here have left notes in her guestbook. You are all simply awesome. Nancy....I signed Krissy's guest book today, and opted for the journal updates. Please know that Krissy is in my constant prayers and thoughts. The next time you give her a kiss, please know that it is from me, as well. God Bless you all! With much love....Diane
Thank you so much Diane. She sat up today for a while, (I think Robin wrote that in the journal), but she is in so much pain. I cannot bear seeing her in so much pain. I thank everyone who has written ... Incidentally, I am her GRAMMY... When she was born, Grandma sounded just tooooo old. :-) Grammy is a much more fun name to be called.
Hoping you will have the strength and courage you will need to be there for her and encourage her to never give up! I'm sure all the thoughts and prayers will help. Just take care of yourself too, being a grandmother is such a blessing, but there is alot of work and worry to go with it. Hugs to you! Linda
