oKAY the latest is toay I took my DH for a checkup and he has advanced periodontal disease so bad that they could not clean his teeth today by the hygienist and the the periodontist has to do it on Wed and he has to have 2 teeth removed. Has anyone had this and what should I expect. should they get anesthesia when it is FTD/AD stage 5?

    angelb,

I brought a dental topic to the top for you.

I take my DH to the dentist every 4-5 weeks for a mini cleaning because of his peridontal disease. He has deep pockets and this is to control the plaque that creates the pockets. He's always had gum problems because he didn't take care of his teeth properly (flossing, cleanings, etc.) for years and years. Now, the Dentist knows him well!!

He does not have anesthesia for his dental work...and if he did, they'd use gas which is much lighter than surgical anesthesia.

This has inspired me to make an appointment for Siem. I don't think he's been brushing very well.
