I started a thread about the health care bill, but then deleted it because it might be considered political. Sorry. Lori
From Joan: And I answered with an alternative idea. See below. By the time I finished writing, I saw the "xxx" in the title, and couldn't figure out what that was all about.
Now that we have totally confused everyone.....................I think my post below should explain it all.
I have had so much stress this week from all the bickering, sarcasm, and nasty remarks on another subject, that there is no way I can handle people arguing the politics of the health care plan. HOWEVER, since it does concern the treatment of dementia, I would like to offer an option. My friend sent this to me last week, and I never got the chance to put it up. This is the link to the health care bill. To anyone who is interested, you can read the entire bill. I admit I have not had the time, but I am providing it as a valuable resource for those who would like to read it. Keep in mind that it is not the final bill. They will be discussing, arguing, compromising (I hope) back and forth until at least September, so the final version will look different.
We had another discussion about the witholding of health care to dementia patients awhile back. The blog is http://www.thealzheimerspouse.com/ADcarewaste.htm, and the message board discussion is http://thealzheimerspouse.com/vanillaforum/comments.php?DiscussionID=2223&page=1#Comment_45781
PLEASE - Read the bill if you wish, but do not argue politics here. I would direct you to the above link on the existing message board topic that debates the idea of how much care should a dementia patient receive.
I wish they would change the title because we have the best healthcare in the world - it doesn't need reforming. What needs reformed is access to it. Should be healthcare access reform.
