When I went to bed Friday night, I had really planned my entire Saturday. Practically down to the minute. But, you know what they say about the best laild plans....About 7:30 am I woke up with a terrible pain in my head just above my right eye brow. I was on the floor. Apparanatly I had been having a wild dream and rolled off the bed and his my poor head on the night stand. Talk about painful! Couldn't even stand to touch it.
My friend came over and said it really needed to be looked at--so for the next 4 hours of my well planned day, I spent in the ER getting a CT of my head. No fractures, not bleeding. Praise God. All is well. The doctor told me to just take it easy for a day or so. That this would get a lot worse before it got better.
This morning I woke up--my right eye completely swollen shut. Horribly swollen and black and blue. This is now 9:45 pm Sunday. I'm still not feeling well in my stomach. Cant stand to touch my forehead, my temple area or up into my hair.
Sure wish I could remember what I was dreaming. I had completely trashed the bed--blankets etc all thrown on the floor.
Please t6hink kind thoughts about my head and my body. Everything hurts all the way from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I really gave myself a horrible whack. Pretty dumb.
Sending you kind thoughts and praying that tomorrow will be a good day for you. And you are not dumb. Dumb is when you do something you know you shouldn't do like when I think I can reason with my DH.
Aww Mawzy, sounds like you really messed yourself up! Do hope you will be feeling better very very soon!! Thankful no "serious" issues!! Take care of YOU!! Hugs & Prayers coming your way!!
Oh how awful! Dumb sleeping is not the same as dumb waking now if you start this kind of thing while you're awake, then you might reconsider the dumbness thing. OUCH I can feel your pain. Pamper yourself if you can.
NOW, I have to tell you (talk about DUMB) when I first quickly read through the beginning of your post I didn't think you were dumb but I thought you were something......YOU WROTE:
" rolled off the bed and his my poor head on the night stand.">>
Okay it's late but due to your little typo I thought you were saying HIS head rolled off the bed and I double taked on it and thought HIS HEAD WAS ON THE NIGH STAND.
Back to reality such as it is. I'm glad I don't have to stay up all night trying to understand why your husband's head was on the nightstand and how long it had been there and whether we all had to worry about that and whether Joan might need to do something about this even though she's working on a book. And how most people would probably just say well that's her own business, and she is responsible for his head, not us.
Hugs to you, Terry (now under the Dean Haywood style influence)
Mawzy sometimes symptoms of a concussion take days to show up. Don't want to scare you but a slow bleed can do that. Please see another doctor if things don't resolve in a few days.
ditto bluedaze. Sorry to hear. Take it easy girl. And if that wild dream ever comes back to you, let us know. Should be interesting. Sending positive healing thoughts your way.
Yes, Nancy and Bluedaze are correct. I've seen many instances where an initial "all clear" is NOT "all clear" after several hours to several days. Nausea is certainly something to report following a head injury.
Mawzy, I'm so sorry about your pain. That must have been quite a dream. Please take care of yourself - listen to all the nurses here about being checked again.
I thibnk I'm feeling some better. Seemed ok this morning but as the day progressed, felt very weary. Of course, we're having quite warm weather so that maybe part of it. I definitely will have another MD check me over if I'm not much better by Wednesday. Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement.
Not to worry about my water intake. I know I drilnk well over 64 oz. well over that amount. Today is better. It's very warm here today--almost 90--I'm not complaining. Just commenting. :) Noche is really being lazy. He gets out in the long grass in the shade and rolls around and then takes a nap. I like his attitude. Nothing ruffles him. And that's the wy we should all be. :)
