the double vision turned out to be more serious than i thought. i'm in the hospital on iv. turns out after mri of brain and spinal tap that 2 of my cranial nerves are affected and i evidently have a virus in system. they are attempting iv antivirals while waiting blood results. maybe lime, zoster or herpes among others. dh is with son tomorrow will go to daughter. wants to stay at home alone. cant allow that. not what i nneeded. might have been brought on by stress. watch yourselves!
Chris r, I am so very sorry to hear this. You have worn yourself out. Here's hoping and praying that everything will be okay and you will be up and about very soon. We miss you here too! Hugs)))))
Oh, Chris, how scary. What a damn shame. You surely didn't need this. We're here pulling for a speedy recovery. Please let us know what's doing. We care.
Chris, you are in my prayers, it is so incredibly difficult when the caregiver becomes ill. As Joan has just reminded us in her blog, even caregivers need care. Take care and keep in touch. Arms around, Susan
((Chris)) This is not what we meant when we said you needed a break. eeeek! I am sorry to hear you are feeling so badly but very glad to know you are where you need to be. Glad you reached for the oxygen. Take care and please do keep up updated on how you are feeling! Healing hugs, Nikki
Chris, how scary! But, you're exactly where you need to be. Relax and rest while you can. Thankfully your family is stepping up to the plate to help. Prayers for healing and ((((hugs)))) for comfort.
Dear Chris, sorry you've hit a rough patch. Those viruses are pesky critters. You are in my thoughts and prayers. As for the sigmoidoscopy - have you had it yet? At least they are making flexible tubes now. If it's the virus that's causing so much havoc, they won't see much. Best to you from me.
Chris, keep positive thoughts and take deep breaths. I pray the drugs will work and KNOW your weary body will appreciate the rest! I'm always told to listen to my body! Ha! It's isn't talking sweet talk to me anymore. If they COULD talk, wonder what our bodies would say to us?
Chris, So glad you are getting some help. Hopefully you'll get a little rest, altho hospitals tend NOT to let the patient rest. So glad your kids are able to help you & that your DH will be taken care of by family. Take care of YOU!! xoxo
Chris, I read your post earlier and replied but as I do quite often I hit the wrong button. I hate it when I do that! I am so sorry you are in hospital and I did say a prayer for you when I read your post. I hope everything will go well for you and that you will soon be on the mend. God Bless.
Chris, rest and get better soon. How nice to have online computer access. My daughter went to Boston yesterday for a business seminar and she phones me that she has neither Internet or TV without paying extra. Internet is $13. a day. I have trouble believing a large inner city Hotel would make a charge like that. I think our local Hospitals now have free access Internet.
Chris, take care of yourself. But ask the hospital social worker for help with your husband. Tell them he can't be left home alone. I was told that if I needed surgery that was what I needed to do. Didn't need it that time around, but it was excellent advice.
the hospital has internet access in the solarium. that't nice. starling, they already broached getting help when i came in. ihave to follow up on that. the kids are just great. makes it less stressful for me to be here. joan, your caretakers blog was very timely altho you all know i have been going to docs since father,s day. yes, i had the sigmoid & cat. gastro area seems fine, then double vision began. i was embarrassed to go to yet another doctor. i felt like it had to be in my head. well, i was right. its inflammation of craniel nerves. (LOL) thanks for the prayers & best wishes
Chris: So sorry you are sick in the hospital. This is my biggest fear because our kids live out of state. We have wonderful friends and neighbors, but, it isn't quite the same.
Chris, please rest. This is a stressful situation, but please try to let others handle the details and you get better. The last hosp I had my DH in had internet in the solarium also. It was real useful and handy. I am praying for you.
Chris, I hope there is a simple solution for your inflammation. Double vision-yuck. Is this constant or intermittant? I only ask because I cannot invision typing on a keyboard with double vision. Good to hear the update. Hope all goes well. On the lighter side- I don't think this is what they meant when they came up with the phrase "staycation"!!!
Ok, I came home yesterday. I have to go to the hospital everyday for an infusion of antibiotic and I'm taking antiviral orally. Still not sure if it's Lime disease, or shingles, or some unknown virus, but they are trying to get it, whatever it is. results came back mixed, and lime can give false negative.
