I just read thru all the incontinence posts and emails several to myself to PDF and file. DH responds well to 'let's try' and we both use the restroom before leaving to do errands. He is not incontinent yet. But I'm wondering ahead....I need to work full time for medical insurance now. Even if we could manage to live on his disability for awhile, I can't survive after he is gone and must much keep my job/insurance/benefits (I am 58 and he is 59). I've been out of work twice since age 50 and each time it took longer to find a job--2+ yr @ age 54. I have tons of experience, professional resume, look and act 10 yr younger and make it clear I'm fine with the position/salary, but get told I 'have too much experience= too old.' I don't see how I can work full time, with the 'bathroom' issues lots are talking about. Do the day care people deal with these things, or am I stuck with a facility? So far my DH can be home alone by himself.

LibbySD - Our "daycare" people DO in fact deal with this. My DH is incontinent, however, they take him every 2-3 hours & so he "isn't", just as I do when he is home with me. There are 'accidents', of course, but with the depends/pads, no biggie. The daycare people are excellent at dealing with it and hopefully when you need that, the place you choose will also be accommodating. I cannot imagine otherwise.
