Great news Susan! What a doll your son is, you are blessed. My son is the same way. I too am blessed. That's wonderful for you. Like you could go to the laundrymat, right?
Another angel arrived in my mail today. This one was from Virginia! I cannot believe the timing,,,,,,I had just cringed and hit the send button on an order for pull on jersey type pants for DH which came to $100 for 4 pair. I didn't know how I was going to pay for it, but on a wing and a prayer I sent for them. Later I went out to my mailbox and found an adorable card and a check for $100! So to my Virginia Angel, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I've been so hurt and down, Jim's family had promised me some assistance, but after finding out that he was going into a nursing home (at his request and with the backing of all his doctors, mind you) they began treating me like the enemy and left without the discussion we were going to have about what he needed. So Virginia Angel you made my day. My youngest son, came to visit for little Diego's birthday today and brought his girlfriend who is my hairdresser. She cut the boys hair and then offered to do mine and my Mom's. When all were done, I took out my checkbook. She would not take a dime. She said all she needed was a hug. Another Angel. I am truly blessed. Thank you again, Arms around and around, Susan
Aww Susan what wonderful angels ,who have helped you when you needed help so badly .I remember someone saying angels leave a small white feather when they have been to help you ,I had illnesses that went on for about 3 months I said in my prayers one night i know you shouldnt ask for things for yourself but please help me to get better i have a husband with Ad to care for ,next morning a small white feather was on the carpet next to my bed and i began to recover from that day and was soon well again ,coincidence or what? Angels protect you all ,hugs God Bless Rosie
Rosie that is a beautiful story. and i am very glad you were visited and got better. i believe too. i will start looking for those feathers now!
Susan you have touched the hearts of so many who have taken an interest in your journey. you have so many who depend on you and you have been such a rock of strenght under it all -many of us are in awe of your fortitude under such a load- many here would do more if we were closer- divvi
Oh Rosie what a beautiful story, Dylan found a feather yesterday! Maybe that's a good sign. God Bless you all, I could not imagine a better family than I have here.
Dear Susan, I have been remiss in my posting, but did want to add my 2 cents here. My opinion has always been: when you are deserving of a miracle (or angel in this case) one will be provided. You are the proof of that. I think of you everyday, and send up good thoughts and a prayer (for all of you). I'm struggling. Take care, and keep those feathers coming!
Diane, thank you for you 2cents, it was worth much more :o) I think any kind of feather, polyester or fluff should count, after all some angels might be allergic to down!
My neighbor mows the little strip of my grass along the driveway along with his whenever he mows his. (I did away with my whole front yard lawn, so I didn't have to mow anything, but never got to get rid of that strip).
When we lived up North, and both Sid and I were working all of the time, I would come home in the middle of ice and freezing weather to find that my neighbor had put away my garbage cans for me on trash day, so I didn't have to struggle with them on the ice.
Speaking of garbage cans, our garbage collectors are wonderful to us. If I leave the garage door open a bit, they will put the cans back in the garage! Neighbors cans are all on their sides in the lawn! DH has made friends with the men on the truck and will give them a couple of bucks if he sees them. Or a dozen donuts if he remembers to get them the day before.
We have a lawn service in the park that cuts the grass and edges. That's it. But he trimmed our bushes in front of the house and cut back two large hibiscus bushes. He is definitely our angel.
I got home from Maine, came in the front door, and pretty much collapsed on Sunday. Monday I went to the back door to put out trash, and found that my neighbor, a retired high steel welder, had installed a hand rail by the steps. And on the sidewalk there, I swear, was a white feather!!
I got the bill (yikes) from the Vet today for Holly's surgery and Jelly's adventure. They took $350 off using their "Rusty" Fund to help out! The Vet/Owner said that I had more going on in my life than anyone should have to handle and that they were happy to help! They also accepted a payment plan of $25 a month for the rest of my life, lol! More Angels this time with fur, instead of feathers, lol!
Aren't vets the best??? When our Millie and DH was attacked last summer by huge german shepherd and Millie stayed at the vet hospital for 12 days (imagine what that bill was!), they said for me to just wait and see when/if the owners of the GS would pay it. Took about 2 months - but they did pay it, finally. But the people at the vet's office were fabulous.
When Dennis was a baby he had to stay at the vet's for over a week. They don't like the pets visited because it makes them think they're going home. I begged to see my baby. They set me up in a quiet room with a rocking chair so I could hold my little guy. Finally got to bring him home only to have to bring him back the next day. When I finally got him for keeps I asked about the bill. They said I couldn't figure out how to charge such a large amount. Called me back with a reduced rate without me even asking. They were happy to see my little guy healthy again.
Oh my another Angel, this one accompanied by a little squirrel landed in my mailbox from RI, with a gift for Jelly, me and the Vet, lol! Thank you RI Angel, with all my heart, I am so touch by the kindness of "my family".
I cut the front lawn today and did a bit of weeding and now am on Pain Meds for a very sore, very worrisome back. Just got a call from a friend who camps at the campground that we used to manage. Paul had heard thru another camper that I was having a tough time keeping up with my lawn. He offered to come down and mow for me! I said you are supposed to be up here relaxing. He said that he likes to putter (he does) and given that he thinks so much of Jim, it's the least that he could do for us. His wife, Donna will come down and visit with Mom and me while he cuts the grass next weekend! More angels and Dylan found a feather today. :o)
Another beautiful angel came into my life today. I was dreading my meeting with the hospital to go over our finances for Jim's Long Term Care, but once Jennifer heard my story she was on overdrive! This lovely lady spent 2 yes TWO hours helping me fill out forms for everything under the sun. Stuff I didn't even know I was entitled to was submitted! She helped me apply for something called Tanf for the boys, food stamps, (the boys are eligible even if we as family are not, which we are :o), and a whole lot more. She was amazing. In tears, I found her boss and sang her praises. I feel blessed.
TANF - temporary assistance to needy families. It includes financial and food stamps. I am so happy someone finally let you know about this. The money will help in more ways the one.
Oh, Susan, I am so glad to hear you have some good news and maybe a glimmer of hope. I pray maybe you have reached a turning point. ((((((((HUGS TO YOU))))))))
Our Children's Case Manager for the boys came out and gave us free passes to the movies for today. We had a wonderful meeting, I have always called Melissa our "guardian angel". She has helped us through some very rough spots with Dylan, has gotten me help and info for Jim, even though she did not have to, and is now helping guide me throught the guardianship process for Diego. God Love this Girl!
Susan L, I have not had much time to post lately but when I finally got to turn on my computer this am, I found this discussion first. I had not read it before but if there is anyone who was a non believer, surely they must now believe. You have more angels than I can count and I am happy to read about each and every one of them. You truly deserve angels.
Yes! There are angels among us! I was visiting my brother A couple of weeks ago and mentioned that I was to the point of needing to place Clyde in an AZ facility but the cost was going to be hard to meet. He and his dear wife (who has very early stage AZ herself) decided to have a yard sale to raise money. Not just any old yard sale! He talked to various members of our church and the whole project ballooned. It was announced in church that he was doing a yard sale the 8th, 9th, and 10th; and could people donate things for the sale? The response has been overwhelming! Not only that, but he had fliers made up and posted at several businesses that he was having a fund raiser sale and explained the circumstances. Even several businesses in town donated gift certificates. Today was my respite day so I stopped by for a while. Unbelievable! And so humbling. There were dozens of people bringing things and they were being bought nearly as fast as they came in. People we didn't even know were bringing in nice things for the sale. I just feel so blessed that there are so many angels in our midst! How do you tell them all thank you?
