I am finding many Angels in my life lately. How about sharing stories of suprises from places you least expect?

I just heard from two angels who have offered to help me with paying for Jim's visiting nurses co-pay and just now got an email from his 3 siblings that when they are out here in two weeks, they want to talk about how they can help us!

There are angels among us and they come to us in many forms.

My angel is the person who directed me to this site from the "other" AD site. I was in such a state of panic. I had called the AD hot line & didn't get the kind of help I was looking for, everything told to me was nebulous & I wanted definitive answeres. It was on this site I finally learned what was wrong with my husband and what actually caused his dementia. I think without that angel, I would still be confused and lost. To this day my angel remains anonymous, but I am so very grateful.

Yes - there are legions of angels here. I would still be wandering and wondering in "it's all my fault" land if not for this site. Our archangel is our fearless and seemingly tireless leader who has made it possible for angels and cherubs to gather at this place to offer support and validation.

This is often known as "random acts of kindness". When you are the recipient of one, it is natural to want to "pay it forward". So you do something kind for someone else, and it becomes a chain of kindness.

Oh yes!!! I believe in Angels. If we keep our mind open to this subject, I think we will see the prescence more often. I have received some acts that were so clearly that of an Angel that the lady that was helping us in the terminal at Tokyo actually seemed to have a halo around her head. Her action was the most helpful action I have ever received.

Keep your eyes open and see what is happening around you. Something is helping. bill

I took Dylan in our little old 1993 Toyota Pick-up to dispose of our old washing machine, that many of you know died last week. Well, the Angels from Rent-A-Center had put it in the truck for me, and now I had to figure out how me and my bad back and a nine yr old were going to get it out of the truck. We pulled up to the correct pile at the Transfer Station, Dylan opened the gate thingy on the bed of the truck and out of the blue I had 3 Angels ready to perform a Random act of Kindness and grabbed the washer and set it in the pile! They were gone, almost before I could say thank you! Amazing.! What a wonderful lesson for Dylan.

Today I went out to the mail and found an envelope from Texas, with an amazing donation to help me out. This Anonyomous Angel with a Cowboy hat had great timing, I also received an unexpected Dr. bill for the exact same amt, that I would not have been able to past otherwise. Last week I received a check to cover Jim's first month of In Home Care from an Angel in MN. I am overwhelmed to say the least. Thank you to my angels. I received a call today saying that the social worker had messed up and neglected to tell the In Home Agency that Jim had Medicaid. I only have to pay $5 a month! So My MN Angel's donations bailed me out this morning when I bounced a check! The two angels at the bank reversed the overdrawn fee and helped me straighten things out, got me water and tissues. I am blessed to Have so many people performing "Random Acts of Kindness". I humbly thank you all for your prayers, support, love and blessings. Love, Susan

My first experiences with Angels happened when DH had his mental breakdown. A friend wanted to help and periodically would have us over for diner, but one day she stopped by and asked me to help her out by taking a bag of groceries off her hands. There was a roll of paper towels, 2 cans of soup, a loaf of bread and a couple other things. Along with the bag were 2 gallons of 1/2% milk, she "bought by mistake" at the gas station. Another time a refund check arrived the day before a car repair had to be done. The cost was as much as the refund. These things happen in mysterious ways. Thank Heaven for Angels.

Carosi, isn't it amazing how an experience like this can renew your faith in people. We have all been disappointed by friends, family and so on, but then along come people like those in our stories here, who just light up our lives. Arms around and stretched upward, Susan

Kitty, I need some of THOSE angels in my bottom pasture!! Let me tell you about my day.....a young girl and her husband (my daughter grew up with this young man and we actually bought our first house here in the valley from his parents) and their 6 mo. old daughter came over this morning. They came to borrow my horse trailer. They HAD rented a truck to haul my stock trailer, but it had no electrical hookup for the trailer's brakeing system (without that, the thing would push that little truck down every hill!). ..... I said well, why don't they borrow my truck? But, it had all kinds of brush and bags of garbage in the bed, all ready to be taken to the landfill. AND, by the way, it needs inspection. OOPS. Well, this young man ended up taking all my brush and garbage to the landfill, and on the way back here, he stopped to get it inspected for me....and paid for new wiper blades that it needed to pass. EUREKA! Something nice happened to me today! His young wife stayed here at the house with John and waited for the PT to come to work with John (which he didn't allow,,,,,again) and even stayed to keep an eye out for me while I got on my two year old to work him in the training arena. How good was THAT?!! I ran out and got everyone KFC dinners! The rest of the day went downhill, but thier visit was miraculous! (and did I mention that she DID THE DISHES?????)

See? Somebody up there loves you, StuntGirl.

Yeah....wierd, this couple just shows up on my doorway sometimes....he's a youth minister in Northern Virginia and his wife has a bible school degree also of some sort. The sweetest 20-somethings I know. I'm sad that they're moving to Northern Virginia, where his job is at the church. He's been living with his dad (an M.D.) and she and the baby have been living with his Mom near here, in Swope (Virginia wine country). She told me they'd be back periodically and she plans to give me a hand when they're here. SWEEEEEEEEEET! Did I say? My neighbor also came over today...we sat in the back of the barn and talked about my tractor problems.....he was on the phone with his son ordering parts for it....we were searching out serial numbers and measuring things. Wish I'd taken a course in engine repair. I'd feel more useful. Well, it'll be my wallet, so I guess I CAN be useful with some things!

His own brothers have not been here or called since Christmas and they live 10 min away. Jamie is my angel :)

It's 12:26 am Tuesday. I just got home from admitting Dylan to the pediatric psychiatric ward. I'm exhaused, of course, very emotional and worried about everybody. I grabbed a beer and some cold pizza and sat down to open the mail. All the way home, on the hours drive, I tried to figure out how I was going to pay for the gas that was going to be needed to get back and forth to see Dylan daily. I opened a card, without a return address, postmarked Florida, inside were TWO $50 GAS CARDS! OMG, I'm sitting here crying. The perfect gift arrived just when I needed it most. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my dear angel in Florida. Dylan is having fits of anger, tantrums and hurting himself. He had to be admitted for an evaluation and to look into a med change. I will need to drive the two hour round trip daily. He has been hitting his head in anger and biting himself. I had to call the sherriff and the ambulance. He had locked himself in his room and was under his bed. The sheriffis lifted the bed to get him out. He had a huge lump on his forehead, and will have two black eyes and had bite marks up and down his arms. My poor baby, I don't know what else to do to help him. Please keep my little guy in your prayers. Jim is a mess, and my Mother is a wreck. Courtney is full of anxiety and I'm ready to check myself in. Ok, I've got to get some sleep. Thank you again my Florida Angel. Thank you, thank you.

Update: I talked to Dylan's case manager this morning, she and the residential manager of the home he was in for 18 mos are in agreement that he needs to go back there. I'm sure his dr will be on board with this. Bridge Crossing is the most wonderful residential home I have ever seen (and I have seen a lot) and it is only 6 minutes from us. There is an opening. Jim keeps talking about going into a psych unit????? Don't know why, he can't say, just says he's worried about me. So I'm wondering if he thinks if he goes "away" it will be easier on me. Just got a call, an Angel from the church is bringing us dinne . Please pray to whoever your higher power may be, to send me strength and wisdom. I am not going to see Dylan evry day. I am taking Weejuns suggestion and doing everyother day. Thank you all, I love you. S

My 22 yr old son had offered to pay Rent-a-Center for the washing machine until the Fuel Assistance Program re-opened in August and we could apply for a new one. Well, I found out that the Program does not consider a washing machine a necessary applicance and would not supply one. I told my son this just now on the phone and he said that he was sending me a Check for $300 tomorrow, "Would that cover the washer?" It will because I made a deal with Rent-a-Center to buy the used one we have been using. So my sweet son, who is paying his way through college and then med school, by coaching hockey is now one of my Angels. Of course, he always has been :o)
