Hope a lot of you got to see this show tonight--I watched with DH and he was tapping his foot to lots of the songs from the big dance numbers. We have seen several of the musicals during the last year--Billy Elliott, Hair, and Jersey Boys--there was no recognition from him, but he does seem to be enjoying the show. Guess that's all I can ask for.

They haven't begun yet here on the West Coast (shhh! don't give anything away). Not on until 8 pm. 5 more minutes.

My DH would have LOooooooved seeing the awards.

Make sure you watch or record the whole show--there's some really good stuff at the end.

Thanks. I have it on now. Hope I don't fall asleep on the couch before the end.

This was one of the best awards show I ever saw. I love theatre but have been tied down for a few years. Am hoping to get to some musicals soon (42 nd St playing nearby) and begin to have a little of a life again. I thought the first 10 minutes were fabulous. Hope everyone enjoyed them too.

Kathryn--I agree. I was "down in the dumps" all day and the show lifted my spirits. I didn't know why they chose Neil Patrick Harris to emcee (Doogie Howser). I don't watch his sitcom--is it called How I Met Your Mother?--but maybe I'll start. But after seeing the show, he was a great choice!

My husband and I watched the first hour and a half together before he went to bed. Both of us enjoyed it. They were pushing the fact that the first hour would be very special, and it was.

I agree that is was the best Tony Award show I've seen! I loved the opening number and all of the songs - mostly from our past....I sang along with 9 to 5, Tonight, Mama Mia, etc. and if Liza had sung New York, I would have been over the top! <grin> I was SO GLAD that Angela Lansbury won! She is a great actress, and such a sweet lady. Her speech was good too!

I am proud to say that the Mother and Daughter in "Mama Mia" are Vermonters! We are VERY proud!

    Loved the end, too!
