I haven’t been on for the last week or so because Kathryn and I went to Disney World to get away and relax (one of our little mini vacations). Everything went really well and we both had a good time. We drifted around in the lazy river for about four hours one day. IT goes thru a big cave with a waterfall you go under and she liked that a lot. I would keep my foot hooked under the bottom of her inter-tube to control her flow and keep her close and when we would get to the water fall I would aim her to get and she would get all wet from the water falling on her. She really seemed to enjoy that and would laugh every time. We went to see the new Star Trek movie and right in the middle of the movie she stood up and turned around and started looking at all the people watching the movie and even blocking some from being able to see. Nobody said anything to her and when I asked her what she was doing she said she was looking for the bathroom. I lead her to the bathroom and as we headed that way the gentleman sitting next to us said he would watch our stuff. After the movie we waited for everybody to clear the and when we got up to leave the same guy stepped over and said he had heard Kathryn and what I had said to him. He then said his wife had suffered with ALZ and he thought it was great that I took Kathryn to Disney World.
We had dinner with some old friends of mine (I told them before hand about Kathryn) and when we met they gave her hugs and say how nice it was to hear from us and to have dinner. Kathryn told them she had looked forward to seeing them again and that she had missed them. Only thing is she had never met them before. They went out of their way to include Kathryn in all the conversation.
We really did have a great time. I don’t know how long I will be able to do our little mini Vacations but I plan on doing them for as long as possible.
I'm so glad you were able to have a good time on a little vacation with your wife. I agree - as long as she is able, keep doing it. Even if she only enjoys the moment, and forgets it later, it's still worthwhile.
