I am here, but it is only 9:40pm. Just getting back to the boards. I take it you are awake and bored!

Welcome back TheQueen. We have missed you. Glad you are coping. I read your other post where you hadn't cried. I have dry eyes and can't cry. I wish I could. Think it would help me with the stress.

We have suggested Widows and Widowers add an asterick* following their "post it name" so we can identify you as a widow or widower. You will notice one after Sandi and others. Just go into profile and at the top question is where your profile name is and you can add a * following your name.

    Again, welcome back.

Hi ladies! Glad to see you here. Charlotte, we must live on the same coast! (west) It's not 10:00 here yet, either. I'm in So Cal. TheQueen, where are you from?

DianeT - we are suppose to have a nice weekend before the rains start again. Are you forecast to have a nice one too?

It is supposed to be nice Saturday and the rain is back Sunday. That works great for me. The kids are coming back over tomorrow and my SIL will help me start cleaning out the garage. My DH has always been such a pack rat and I have this need to get things organized and cleaned up. When they aren't he doesn't do very well. It should be pretty easy to clean up since he doesn't make any decisions at all any more.

Any big plans for the weekend Charlotte?

No - just work some in the garden tomorrow. Want to go buy a couple english cucumber plants if they are out yet. They go fast, so don't want to miss. My sister bought some everbearing strawberries so we need to get them planted. It will be good to be out in the dirt - I love that part. I am sure my granddaughter will want to help too. Maybe take her for a walk - I usually end up 'jogging' to keep up with her. I am not in good shape but good enough to keep up with her.

Sunday is forecast to be 70 so that will be nice. If it is that nice, maybe a drive up the old Columbia Gorge highway. I haven't been on it since I was a kid (we always take the interstate). I might try to talk my brother into taking us white water rafting on the White Salmon River sometime in the next month while the water is still high. We use to have family campouts at his place outside of White Salmon, WA Memorial Day Weekend then he would take us all rafting (he is a guide). But, as the kids grew up and had other things to do, we stopped.

I wouldn't be surprised if you showed up at my door! Just call when you're a couple hours away so I can shovel out my kitchen and close the garage doors!!! (and change my clothes) Bring work clothes....some shoes or boots you won't mind ruining. And some gloves. There's lots of stuff for you to do. My company doesn't come cheap!!

I just looked around.....my GOD , what if I ever DID get company!?? I'm living like a college freshman! I've recently really been letting things get a little messy around here.....I wonder, when I'm doing fastidious cleaning or detailing the yard and barn, "what am I doing this for? Why am I spending this much energy on this kind of stuff anymore....who's gonna see it, anyway?" I get pretty discouraged at times. I'm saving lots of stuff to do tomorrow so I don't have a crummy day, being mother's day and all. Oh, and, bring cash and canned goods!

    And Tylenol. You'll need Tylenol.

StuntGirl, you should put a sign up that reads: "My house is not always this messy. Sometimes it's worse"

    Hi Stuntgirl,
I love the Shenandoah Valley...did a lot of courting there as I went to JMU and DH had two sets of grandparents in Harrisonburg. He had a free place to stay and we often had Sunday dinner with one set or the other. We spent a lot of Saturdays on the Skyline Drive--gas was really a bargain back then, so it was a cheap date. Many fond memories...

Yeah, its a beautiful place to live and to visit! I love it here. My home. MARSH: I DO have a sign in my house that reads, " My house was clean yesterday....sorry you missed it".

I'm to the point of being O.C. when it comes to cleaning. I alphabetise my spices in the spice rack, line up pantry items with names to the front, every little thing in it's place. Comes from years of being an interior designer and people looking at everything with "that look". Now, it's what I do, regardless if anyone sees it or not. Mostly, my kitchen, dining area and family room are the neatest, because I work here when DH is up. He wants to see me all the time, or he comes looking for me. It's fun for me. - My granddaughter asked me if I was "Sleeping With The Enemy". I was shocked...was she referring to her grandfather??? Later I learned it was the name of a movie...and the male lead was a fanatic about keeping everything in a certain way - and was extremely obscessive about it. I'm not like that. When I had places to go and was free to go, my house wasn't like this. (My house is on the market for sale now...so it's important it be show ready..another good reason!)
