Oh, yea, part II: I drove up in front of our garage door so he could unload his bike and put it in the garage. I stopped; he sat and didn't make an effort to get out of the truck. He said, "What now"? I said you get out and take your bike out of the truck bed." Whew!
It sounds like your husband is in early stages like mine (he has FTD). Does your husband carry a cellphone? My husband likes to go for walks and I make sure he always has his cellphone with him turned on. We have verizon and I have the chaperone feature on it. This way when he goes for his walks I can check on where he is either by my phone or through the computer. If he is going somewhere he doesn't belong, I can see it and either I call him or I get in the car and show up where he is at. It has worked well for me.
I caught John in the kitchen today....teetering in there to do......what? later, smelled burning, he'd put some meatloaf slices (from lunch) in the toaster oven on the rack and turned on the TOAST button. yikes.
He has a cell phone, but doesn't really know how to use it tho' I've showed him several times, and often doesn't take it with him. We have Sprint. That chaperone feature sounds good; will check to see if Sprint has such a thing. Maybe I'll have to get him a little On-Star for his belt.:) Yes, he is fairly high functioning--vascular dementia. Thanks.
my husband doesn't really know how to use his phone but can answer it. As long as he has it with him and on you can monitor where he is. Bruce can only go out for a walk on his own if he has it with him and its on---he knows that and always shows me its on before he goes for his neighborhood walk.
Thanks; I'll be checking it out. I can turn it on and let him go. Don't think he'd know how to turn it off, but....one never knows. He's a sneaky little devil.
I finally gave G's cell phone to our grandson as he needed one for the summer camp time. Everytime G would try to use it he would end up throwing it because it didn't work! Natch we're still on a contract, so I pay for his regardless. Oh well.
