Anyone with any suggestions about Computer Games for my Mac? I have been playing Solitare day and night for weeks and think I need something else low key to go along with it. Also, the site to go to get it. I do love Solitare and crosswords but would like something different now. Thanks in advance.
I've played FreeCell, Imohr. Not sure if you'd like it but its different. It was loaded with the other games on my pc.. you might also have it on your mac.
Sudoku is my favorite (http://www.websudoku.com) but I usually print them out rather than sit at the computer. The game I like best on the computer is Mahjong--but if I start, I can spend too many hours at it.
You can also pull down the menu under the apple at the top of the screen. There a place to click on Mac software. If you go to "all downloads," you get a list of categories of software. One is games.
I play computer games way too much. I especially like word games. Scrabble is my favorite, and I have no one to play with except the computer.
I am addicted to spider on the pc, but also google games, various ones. If you have a google account, you can get igoogle (free) and there are all kinds of little flash games to add to it; hundreds to select, mostly short in duration: jewels and mahjong and sudoku etc etc - try some out and see which ones you like. My igoogle page is my home page, because it can have my calendar and gmail accounts as well as any sites I like all the time (doonesbury, for instance, my banking accounts, azspouse) and news feeds.
Addicted to pogo.com. Love their games and the people I meet. I also played spider solitaire every night - have to win before I go to bed. I have yahtzee also on my computer but not really into it. I have Jewel Quest 1 & 2 that someone gave me on my computer.
Might try a search of shareware games. Can often find interesting games there. As others suggest google, yahoo, netzero all have games. Google 'games to download for free' or something similar.
Also, if you have Windows live messenger they have games you can play with others you IM with. I would think other instant messenger programs have them too. That way, if someone from the list is online you can play games together. I do this with my younger brother.
My favorite is Brickbreaker, for a fast one and chess for longer.Lately I'm doing Brickbreaker a lot more cause I just want something fast and fairly simple. Card players will like the poker games.
Thanks for all your suggestions. Daughter just installed a Hoyle book of games for Mac on my computer so I am going to look at some of those you suggested. They have to be pretty simple for me to understand. No chess or Sudoku. I like crosswords as fav. Been playing a lot of Solitare and I like it.
Have learned nothing yet. I checked out the ones on the Hoyle CD I purchased and don't like anything on it. Everytime I think about it I find myself doing solitare and it still amuses me. I like hearts and spade card games and think I would like them but about afraid to download something on this mac. Most of them are for PC. With solitare I don't have to THINK. Know what I mean? May wait until someone comes and shows me how to play a new one.
IF you have internet all the time, try pogo.com. I know people who have Mac's and play pogo, you just need the latest version of your browser. They have a lot of free games. I subscribe just so I earn badges.
If anyone else plays on pogo, let me know and we can meet up on some games.
Hog Heaven Slots, Monopoly Slots or really any of the slot machine games. Poppit, where you pop groups of same color ballons is another one, World Class Solitare, Blackout Bingo Laui.
I don't play all that much anymore, but I had stayed close to several good friends I made on there and they've really helped me the last couple of months.
