Today I was told that my husband at day care got agitated and wouldn't let go of a worker's hand. I was told I needed to get him on a medication to calm him down or he would be suspended from Day Care. I was told to call a geriatric psychiatrist to get medication for him. Does anyone have any experience with this? Susan
Susan your best bet to start would be put a call in today to his regular doctor preferably his neurologist. tell them the situation and see what they recommend. if they cant rx something they will refer you to a specialist but we sure to ask for a rush appt. divvi
I just brought to the top another discussion topic exactly like yours - one of our other spouse's husband was also kicked out of Day Care. I am sure you will find useful information in it.
Yes, my DH is also in Day Care three days a week and sundowns. They have told me that it it upsets others for him to be agitated. I do think that DH needs medication adjustment. He is antsy and agitated from 2 until around 9 pm. Then he is up at 2 am again until 5 am. This is getting to me badly as I cannot sleep with all the pacing and his being in and out of drawers and counting the silverware. DH has a neuro appointment next week and we will discuss this issue.
