Well, I'm all packed up and expected to be recieved at the detox facility up the county. Don't know what to expect. I just know that the last couple of days have been getting more and more like a crisis situation with my own sanity. A neighbor will look in on John until my mother and father come up. The farm across the road will look after the livestock. I've counted out John's meds for him....I haven't even been giving them to him regularly because frankly, nothing is helping and it only costs hundreds a month (copay and because Medicare says some of the meds aren't necessary!). Honestly, I feel like gravity is at least four times greater on this little piece of dirt where I live than anywhere else on earth. Know I'm thinking about you all and please pray for me, whatever higher power you trust in. Love, Jen

Good for you! I hope and pray that this will somehow be a turning point for you. I forgot to say in my last post that the Serenity Prayer really helps me. Don't give up - we all care.

Jen, this is so fantastic. So glad you were able to make arrangements for yourself, and for your husband and home to be looked after while you take this important "Time Out." I'll be thinking of you, and keeping you in my prayers. This is such an important and positive thing. "YOU GO, GIRL!"

Jen, you won't believe how much more manageable things will seem once you learn to take care of yourself first. Good luck...my prayers go with you. Diane

This is the best thing that you can do for yourself, and it is so important for caregivers to understand that they have to care for themselves. This can be a killer and you have to get out from time to time, absolutely.
