I am sure this has been discussed in the past, however, I couldn't find it. My husband still uses the bathroom by himself, does pretty good most of the time, however, tonight I noticed after his shower he has a rash on his fanny. We have been dealing with jock itch lately. The only thing I have at the moment was Destin that I had used in the past for diaper rash on my granddaughter. Any other suggestions on what works best?

dont use desitin. it may not be jock itch. i thought DH had it too -he should see a dr as this can be a fungus that spreads and is quite painful. my DH will get it almost daily from the depends if not changed every couple of hrs if needed. dont know if yours is in depends or not but if its red and itch better see the dr. ours gave us clotrimazole) 1% and i use every other day and it is nice and clear using that now. after cleared up you may want to get some pure talc and let him use in his underwear to absorb sweat and urine dribbles. divvi

Thanks divvi for your response. I have been treating the jock itch with medication for that problem. The fanny rash looks like diaper rash, too late though I already put the Destin on his fanny, however, not the other area. He is not incontinent, just doesn't do a really good job with the paperwork. BUT, is not ready for any help, he thinks it is stupid when I ask him to wash his hands after.

If it is fungus, I highly recommend Lotrimin POWDER, not spray, not cream. It is an anti-fungal powder. It is expensive, but you can get it in bulk and cheaper than the drug store at Hocks.com. Actually, most drug stores have stopped carrying the powder.

I sometimes get a rash bicycling in hot weather. Tried every OTC remedy I could find to no avail. Finally Dr. prescribed FLUOCINONIDE OINTMENT USP, 0.05%. Don't know what it is but it works for me. ~danielp

I was having a problem with a rash on underarms as was dh. Dermatologist said it was a fungus and I thought it was allergy to my deodorant. She had the pharmacy mix me a cream to use and it cleared it up. I think I will order the Lotrimin Powder to use with deodorant.
