had a meeting with social worker, head nurse, nutrisnest, and theripest, went well, had to sign papers for things like tube feeding and all life support, said no to almost all, they wanted to know his likes and dislikes of food and things he likes to do, talked about his wondering all day long, put him on prozack ,is crying alot so wanted to calm him down. showed us (DAUGHTERS AND ME) where the snacks and drinks were so we could get him something when we visit, if he asks for it . the meeting went well, they say he is in the moderite stage but with him falling when he tries to sit in the chair it may be the begining of stage 7, could be in this stage for a long time. We visited with him for awhile and he was much calmer, found a friend there who goes to help out the elderly friends he knows there and saw dh and was suprised to see him, says he will visit him often, made me feel good. I watched dh walk down the hallway and yes it was the best thing to do , placing him, i feel more at peace with myself, to heck with what the small minded people say in our small town, walk in my shoes for a day and see what it`s like.one lady couldn`t believe i put him in a home, huh wait till his cousins hear this, shhhhhhhhhh will hit the fan, never saw them come visit him

Marygail, don't you worry about what other people say. You said it right. Walk in your shoes for a day and see what it's like. I'd like my step-kids to take their Dad for a couple of days. They wouldn't think he was fine.
