My husband just came home from the NH due to finances ( another discussion, later). I can get help for about one bath a week. I know there are ways to wash people who can't get out of bed. Can someone direct me to the right discussion. Just wiping the genitals with cleansing cloths REALLY isn'r cutting it. HELP!!!

Looks like this might help: http://www.caring.com/articles/giving-bed-bath

(I just googled how to bathe someone in bed. I'll need it soon enough!)

    briegull,

That's a good one. Thanks. I had another excellent one, but the link is broken - I will put this one up in the Caregiver Tip section.

wheatleygirl 1 several suggestions: watch how the aide bathes him and changes sheets, there is a product called bath in a bag which I have not personally seen but I will try to find it for you later, and finally my favorite-cut up some old towels or buy cheap wash clothes, dampen them with water and no scent body lotion and scrub away-no need to rinse. For poopy areas (sorry divvy) you cam buy peri wash which makes things a lot more pleasant. If your husband chills easily or you want to be very nice you could warm the wet clothes in the micro wave but be careful of steam.
