Today Tom and I celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.. but we've been together for 17 years..... We have never celebrated in a traditional way as we said from day one... We celebrate every day together and we did as a couple... we are "were" so one WITH each other ... the blessing is, even though he accepts this disease, he doesn't seem to realize the we part is broken and I am" us."..... That okay.....
I tell anyone who wants to help us... focus on Tom as when he's happy I'm happy.... and him being happy is what is going to help me the most through this disease.
Anyway... we had a good week reminiscing and laughing about all the things we have done together..... It was a little sad for me when I had to fill in the blanks but than decided that was okay because at least I had blanks to fill in...
Happy anniversary, Cynfany! Love your comment about celebrating everyday as a couple and when he's happy you're happy. Good attitude! May this coming week be good for you!
Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all during the month of April. We more and more have to arrange the celebrations. I am going to include the whole month and that way maybe I won't miss someone. For a while I started trying to welcome each new member but found it was too easy to miss someone. Everyone have a celebration and let us know about your day. Love this site and everyone here. Thanks Joan.
Thanks for the warm wishes... We didn't do anything special. I came to the realization of how long we've been married and years we've spent together...I never thought about it before... but this year I realized ... this is as good as it gets.
So I spent the day being thankful for the years we've been blessed with and the memories we"ve created........and the movie Notebook comes to mind .... as sometimes when he can't fall asleep he'll say "tell the story of when first we meet"...... He use to help me tell the story and he still tries but I notice things are getting mixed up but I just follow how he's telling it and agree........ He says he'll never forget those things as long as he lives....... I've been Blessed. : )
Cyfany, congratulations! I also feel that we've been blessed - even if he does now have AD. 45 wonderful years and then these last two, which, though different, I have found some joy in.
To Maryd, Happy Belated Birthday! Tom, Happy Anniversary!

I haven't posted for a while because everything has been pretty normal. We go to the neuro on the 23rd so we will find out what the catscan showed of the thickening in my DH's chest.
The reason I am posting now is today is our 43rd anniversary. We will go out for lunch tomorrow because our our favourite place to eat is not open on Mondays and I don't do nights anymore. VBG
