I worry about ME! I am losing my vocabulary skills. I was writing a reply to Divvi earlier, re: the IRS tirade, and wanted to say Nazi Gestapo. I initially wrote "Nazi Gazpacho". That's an oxymoron. Hate one, love the other. I used to say that I was having a Senior Moment, but I think I'm only speaking in Alzheimer's so much, I've lost my communication skills. Is anyone else having this problem?

Nancy B, this has been discussed some before and mostly we put it down to "caregiver stress" but there was one day at work this week than I couldn't say anything right. Everything I said came out twisted and I was really concerned by the end of the day. Has not happened since, but it still has me worried.

Nancy B. You are perfectly articulate. Everyone goofs up from time to time. You are being too hard on yourself. So don't worry, be happy. If you have oxymoron in your vocabulary, well.....you are above most.

NancyB--you could always get a job writing for sitcoms. Remember Archie Bunker and his hilarious word mixups?

yes, DItto, I remember. He had what I have. He was so irreverently funny. (A lot like my husband used to be with his unlimited prejudices.) When DH first started on this AD journey, all his inhibitions went away and I felt like I was throwing my body over his "MOUTH" on soooooooo many occasions. I did NOT want him to speak his mind! He was a very bad boy!

    Nazi Gazpacho works for me..:)

talk about word issues. i have them constantly. i have to fast forward my thinking reflex when i talk now to make sure i am getting the right word out. and i dream in 3 languages..all jumbling together. so i do hope caregiver stress is real or i am done for. divvi

Do you guys remember Jerry Seinfeld doing the soup nazi?
  5.
I never watched Seinfeld....don't know why. I understand it was great! Must have been on when one of my favorites was on. Maybe I need to buy one of those "season long" DVD's and catch up on him.

Dunt you laff at me,Divvi. I can't help myself.

well talk about caregiver stress, today is friday and when my aide showed up this morning at 10:15 which is supposed to. i was laying on the couch still in bedclothes reading a tabloid and having coffee. DH snozing after breakfast! i had no earthly idea today was my mommys day out! i was in shock for hrs that i could have lost a whole day like that. i scurried around and left and went to piddle to buy junk i didnt need. i dont think i ever lost a day like this. it was scary but good to know i was free for 4hrs..! its such a joy to get out and just 'go'....
nancy b you have no EXCUSES now, get an agency on monday and your day out or we will boycott you here. get out there! divvi

ok ok ok. Just got off the phone with my sister in law in Columbia SC and she said the same thing. (heavy sigh).

OK OK OK everybody. I do have a problem leaving the house, though. Old habits are hard to break. I just wish I could stay in bed for an entire day with no one knocking on the door, or phoning. I've thought about going to Lakeway Inn and Spa and getting a massage every 4 hours for 2 days.

I forget words, he forgets words. I forget what I was going to say, he forgets what he was going to say. My grammer is bad and spelling worse.
But, I still have my "reason button" most of the time and he doesn't. I think that is the difference.
