I invite you to log onto the home page - www.thealzheimerspouse.com to view the videos and read the reports from the Alzheimer's Public Policy Forum. The links are on the main page below the "Welcome - Please Come in" sign and above the "Daily News.
Please post all comments about the Forum and the reports under this topic - You know how I try to be organized, and I would like to keep all of the forum responses under one topic. Also - PLEASE REMEMBER THIS WEBSITE'S POLITICAL POLICY - This is NOT the place for discussions of personal political ideologies or discussions for or against political parties or politicians. Instead, I would like to hear your opinions AND ideas about the ASG's recommendations about Alzheimer's Disease.
Today's (Friday) blog is an outline and highlights with details to follow in the weekend blog. There are some good pictures up now, but more to follow. You will notice a theme in the pictures - Tony managed to get his picture taken with every celebrity. Well deserved, I can assure you. His story went a very long way to advance the awareness of EOAD. Even Newt Gingrich, who has been on the ASG panel, and researching this disease for the report for 18 months, was shocked when he heard that Tony's wife was just 43 when AD claimed her life.
We had 4 spouses from this website go to the Forum with their AD spouses. All four couples brought their stories to Capitol Hill in person.
To comment on the discussion (polling the house of representatives)about what will move the politicians to act - Be sure to read the weekend blog, which will be posted on Saturday morning. It will give my personal opinion on why AD has been on the back burner in Washington, and why it is suddenly on the front burner. It will also relate what I know to be absolutely true as to what moves them to act.
I have met a lot of political people in these last two years, and I have learned much from the experiences.
