My husband went missing for over 24 hours. I've been wanting to share some info with the group and after what happened I think this is a good time. I had photo copies of his auto registration and drivers' license. Not many of us know our own tag numbers-let alone our spouses. License had recent photo already in the system. The police and I were in constant communication with our credit card company. That let us know what direction he was headed in. As only small purchases were being made police felt he hadn't been picked up by someone who would harm him. Credit card company was on alert to notify us as soon as a charge was made so we could track where he was. Needless to say when we got him home his car "disappeared". Hope this helps.

This is a real heads-up for those that are newbies. Try to get the driving issue off the table as soon as you can. Our lo's are prime to be taken advantage of by unsavory people, let alone the issue of harming some innocent family on the road with them. They all think that there is nothing wrong with them, at least at first. Do whatever it takes, lie, enlist the help of doctors, etc. You will be glad you did.

bluedaze, Please share more, what happened (when) so you don't get us in panic mode thinking its happening now. How he was found, how you felt, etc etc etc. If you don't mind telling the story, I think people learn more than just heading our warnings. So how did the whole thing start? Yes I am a nosey, posie! Rk-relax-happened a few years ago. I felt it was important for us all to know what to do if it happens to them. My daughter drove up to be with me. We were on our cell phones and land line constantly. Police were great-two of them staying in our house much of the time. Husband probably took off to find someone who would give back his drivers' license after it was revoked. Certainly wasn't thinking logically. More than the license has to go-so does the car and keys to remaining car. They can be so canny at the same time they are off the wall. Shortly thereafter I got a nail in my tire. I drove to the tire store and walked home. Husband biked over and paid the bill demanding the keys so he could drive home. I had for warned the tire guys not to give up my keys. I got there in time to see husband screaming and threatening to get my keys. From there things got much worse until I had him placed for everyone's safety.
