My husband' family came up from Kentucky to visit on Saturday. He showed very little reaction when they first came in. We started the day by going out to breakfast, which my husband ate all of. Has not been eating well lately. Back to the house for visiting. He sat in his chair and appeared to be sleeping. Brothers and sister began telling childhood stories about my husband. Even though he appeared to be sleeping, he chuckled several times during the story telling. They had brought several of his favorite home town foods which he nibbled on throughout the afternoon and then we went out to dinner. Again he ate it all. He behaved well most of the day and only paced when he needed to use the bathroom (he can't remember where to go or how to go). After nature would finally take its course in the depends, he would be ok. All in all the day was a success. On Sunday we both just lay around resting. Today I went back to work and the aide really earned her money. Three showers and half a package of depends to clean up the after effects of everything his family fed him. Next time, I will tell them to leave the food at home.

ehamilton, so glad your visit went well. yes overindulgence with our spouses eating habits well that gives way to extra poop patrols. but seeing them enjoy themselves some is worth the added work involved. my DH did the same thing with grandaughters visit. we ate cake, cookies, pizza, and all the extras kids like. paying the price just like you since she left. immodium is a best friend. divvi
