If you want information on FTD, just ask Younghope. She just joined us and was diagnosed with FTDwhen she was 38 . If anyone can give you the information you're looking for, she can.
Sunshyne.....Is it too late to ask for a copy of FTD management that you spoke of. My email is listed in my profile. I'm not sure Jim has been diagnosed correctly either. His symptoms have always been mixed and his short term memory has been nonexistent for a while. Thanks so much.
Jean, the link for Alzheimer Association spouse forum is http://alzheimers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/frm/f/352104903. You'll often find JAB/Sunshyne there, as well as other friends who also post here. The more knowledge we can get our hands on, the better off we are.
I think it is so nice that we can share information on various sites. It is so gracious of Sunshyne to help us with her research. We are all in this together.
Deb, Thank you so much for providing that list of symptoms for FTD patients. My husband has so many of them. I guess I would have to say he's in stage 3, but he does have some early symptoms of stage 4. How scary this is! I'm trying to take that advice about one day at a time. There are days when I can't even think straight; I am so confused on those days that, no matter how busy I am, I have to stop what I'm doing and do something that makes me feel better, even if it's just sitting down and watching TV (I can't read books at that time because I'm unable to concentrate). Sometimes I feel like everything inside of me is jumping around. It's a feeling like no other I have ever had.
All others, you help me to accept these changes in my husband. It isn't as scary to go through these phases if you know someone else is having the same problems. I don't know what I would do without you.
