For any who live in northern IN and are interested here's an announcement I read today:
The Alzheimer's Care Coalition will host the 3rd annual Caregiver's Conference from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug 5 at Dayton United Methodist Church, 7201 Wesleyan Drive, Dayton. Keynote speaker will be Daniel Kuhn, director of the Professional Training Institute for the Greater IL Chapter of the Alzheimer's Assoc., based in Chicago.
The conference is free & includes breakfast and lunch. It will feature 2 tracks, one for caregivers and one for professionals. For more info 800.382.7556 or 765.447.7683.
My hb and I attended last year, and I learned a lot. (I hadn't been "found" on another site by someone on this site then.) He would ask people if they thot he was demented. Today I asked if he'd like to go again this year. "No, I didn't get much out of it." We'll see where we are in August, and maybe I'll attend.
Kuhn wrote an excellent book on caregiving for early-stage AD patients. He's very well-known and respected in the AD world. Pity I'm nowhere near northern IN, I'd like to hear him.
