In new issue of AARP The Magazine, March/April 2009, on the "AARP & You" paghe, they announced that "Gail Sheehy, author of 15 books, including the popular 'Passages', is AARP's new Caregiving Ambassador. She'll address the emotional and practical problems of caregivers." The it directs to aarp.org/caregiving.
I didn't have time to explore a lot, but ther site looks like a good source for information. I did try to make an "Ask Gail" e-mail to ask about spousal caregiving as a lot still looks aimed at child/parent caregiving but the site kept flipping me off before I could get the boxes filled.
The did reference an article regarding the fact male caregivers approach caregiving differently--We already figured that out.
There's a lot there. I'll be going back to snoop around. Some may be old info to us, but there seemed to be new stuff to.
Thank you carosi. I will follow up and try to get in touch with her about this site and spousal caregiving. I'm out straight until Sunday because I'm trying to organize my office AND get ready for my support group's flea market fundraiser on Saturday.
