Joyful and Kelly5000, both have been missing. Hope everything is ok. I know lately I haven't been around as much but it's crazed around here so I have been only getting to check in real quick and fly thru a few post as others do when they have a lot going on, But I worry when people drop off the radar completely. Rk

No, I have not, and she would generally e-mail me on a regular basis. I did e-mail her when she was having such a rough time, but have not heard from her. I believe she will contact us when she is ready.

My dear friends My dearest friend and soulmate left this earth Thursday night, Feb. 17th, just twenty minutes before the 18th which was our 58th wedding anniversary. My children and I had kept a vigil in his room day and night for 10 days until his soul left his body. I must tell everyone that the veteran's home was absolutely wonderful!!! They gave us the guest room with beds, showers, to refresh ourselves and supply a hospitality cart morning, noon, and night for 7 out of the 10 days. The meals sent on the cart were very good. My dear nurses in my husband's wing made sure I got soup and other food to keep me going. I have never heard of any nursing home being so generous and solicitous. THe staff from all over the building would chevk on Earnie's condition, would hug me and tell me how much they loved Earnnie.

I plan to relate to you all who are still on this arduous and terrible journey the last events of Earnie's life and how he was kept comfortablw until he was released from its prison. I need to have a few das to recuperate from a slight case of pneumonia I have been battling.

    Thank you for your concern.......

Joyful - veterans do that. You all become family which doesn't usually happen in the regular nursing homes.

May you have peace and rest that you need and deserve.

Prayers for peace and comfort for you and your family. And a special thanks that there are people caring for others who are so thoughtful and considerate. My husband misses by a day or two being considered a Veteran; so we won't be able to use their facilities and care.
