Tonite I was trailing my husband walking with walker into the bathroom. He noticed, for the first time, a couple of folded bath mats under the phone table by the door.

    What are those?
THose are bath mats I have ready in case you poop on the ones in the bathroom, like you have before.
I guess I asked for that one, didn't I! he said.

I can't remember if I have mentioned this before but here goes....

When trying to help my husband remember our son's birthday, I found myself giving more and more silly hints. Finally, I said it was the most painful event (as in labor pains) that I had ever experienced...........He thought and thought......I could see the wheels spinning....Without misssing a beat, he said...The day we were married???? -----

    Alrighty then....

PS Our anniversary is January 25th. Wonder if I should ask the same question.

Saturday our daughter, 2 married granddaughters, and 1 great-grandson (4 Months) were in the van driving. Baby was in car seat between his mother and hb. Hb "talked" in his confabulated way with kindness and expression. Baby watched and listened sometimes babbling himself. Would turn to his mother with "comments" then back to great grandpa. They had quite a "visit". When we were home, all hb could talk about was what a wonderful baby ggs is and wants to visit him everyday--they live about a mile from us. Nice to have a baby to listen so attentively to all the unfollowable talk. :) Pets and babies!

A dear friend and I were having lunch at a lovely restaurant the other day when I noticed her plate was quite far away from the table edge...I automatically moved it over and rearranged things for easier reach...then realized what I had done..she burst out laughing and thanked me for making sure she was tidy...embarrased much? Thank heavens she's so nice!

Last week my brother came over and we rolled up a pan full of cabage rolls.
  3.
Sorry, I pushed the wrong button. anyway, we had been working for a couple of hours and were having a cold beer to celebrate completing the task, (if you ever made cabage rolls you would know why) when Mar came in the kitchen and said I have to talk to you. I said OK and listened looking right in her eyes, she said I don't think you like girls. I reassured her that I did but the best part was my brothers reaction. Now he has fuel to tease me.

Took my husband to his PCP today for meds refills. After she examined him and we were leaving the room, he turned to her hugged her and told her he loved her. She hugged him back and told him she loved him too and was glad he was having a good day. I'm glad she just took it in stride :)
  4.
deb, my DH has turned into a hugger (never was much before). First time we met our new priest and wife, he shook hands with the priest, but hugged his wife. She hugged him back and told him what a good-looking guy he was. He just beamed!

    Vickie,

my husband was never much of a hugger either. Now it seems he hugs anyone he likes. He's hugged my brother, my dad, my sister, one of his brothers and now the doctor. I always tell the people he hugs that he must really like you because those are the only ones he hugs. He also turned into a back rubber. He will keep his hand on my back when we are in a store or just rub it when we are standing in line.

He also likes to hold hands now. He never held hands, even when we were dating. He always told me it made his hand sweaty. Now he will grab my hand if we stop at a traffic light, but he lets go immediately when the light turns green and tells me to put that hand back on the steering wheel.
  5.
    Aww Vickie-that is so sweet♥
  6.
Amazing, deb! Mine's a back-rubber too! And a hand-holder. He will always grab my hand when we are out anywhere; and has done it even when walking from the kitchen to the den if we are walking together!

Two residents at the facility where Charlie resides were talking last evening. One man as the other how old he was. The man replied that he did not know how old he was. The other gentleman told him he had better find out before he died so they would know what to put on his tombstone.

DH woke up really confused this morning. He was changing his bed and couldn't find the pillow case he had taken off. He had folded it up and put it on top of a file cabinet by his chest of drawers. Then he was asking about the clean pillowcase, he only had one. I told him he only had one pillow (twin bed). He then said "I am all messed up this morning". I told him I knew and didn't know what to do to help him. He said "Nothing and if I start to holler just tell me to shut up". Alrighty then.

The other evening one of those politico shows was on where 2 people are arguing with each other. (don't know how come it was on, but it was). Dh got all upset about it, because he had gotten it all worked out, and had filed a report on it. I did mail in that report for him, didn't I? Anyway, he had settled the whole thing and couldn't understand why they were arguing. Didn't they read the report. I couldn't get it turned off fast enough, but he continued to be upset about it even after I had gotten it turned off. I just wonder what was in that report he mailed.

This is already an oldie: a Christmas story that has already become a precious memory:
Some of you know that I still take Siem to classical music concerts. He is always willing to go and he does well, listening quietly to the music and clapping in the right places. The only problem occurs at intermission: he ALWAYS thinks it’s time to collect his coat and go home. Lately I’ve been getting him to stay by promising wine in the break and his favorite restaurant after the second half of the concert.
So, I thought if he could sit through a full-length concert, he should be able to survive the Christmas Eve candlelight service at my home church, where we were married (although we never go to church in Holland). And he in fact did well, looking up the hymns and singing valiantly along, even reciting the responses from the bulletin. There was special music and only a very brief sermon. At the end he did not want to light his candle, but when he saw that everyone was holding one, he lit his from mine and held it while we sang Silent Night to close the service.
Then after the Benedcition comes that special time when it seems like everyone in this small congregation descends upon us with hugs and Christmas greetings, and it is so wonderful to see them all including two dear cousins that I often only see on Christmas Eve.
Suddenly I realized that Siem was no longer beside me. He had returned to our pew and seemed to be studying the bulletin. I understood that he must be feeling overwhelmed and went to collect him, saying that we could go home now. So we pried my Mom loose from her friends, gathered our coats and were soon out the door.
On the way home came first his bewildered question “How’s come all those people know my name?” and then his sigh of relief: “Boy, I’m glad we decided not to stay for the second half!”

A few weeks ago, DH's ring finger became so swollen I took off his wedding ring. Two weeks ago, he asked me if we were married and if we had children. Then he started bugging me about his wedding ring, so yesterday we took it to the jeweler, who stretched it - still not large enough. So he cut it and inserted a piece to make it fit. Today we went to get it. It fits perfectly and you can't even see where it was cut. I put it on his finger and he looked at me, grinned and said, " Well, I'm sure glad to get this ring. Now we are married!". Alrighty, then!

When hubby was still able to talk and walk, we were doing the walk up and down the hall for hours thing one day. He had his arm around my waist as we walked and he turned to me andd asked where his wife was. I told him I was his wife and he said" you can't be her, you need to lose weight".
    Ouch!

    So funny, Weejun!

Hope no one will be offended by this, but..
DH asked "how is Charlie doing" (the attorney I worked for who had LBD). I said, Charlie died. He asked when. Told him last Oct. DH said, "Well, I guess he's doing okay then"!

I sure needed the smiles from Weejun and Vickie because DH was off again yesterday and today about the woman on the second floor wanting him to help with the parking out front. It ended up with both of us getting angry. A while later he came and said he thinks I am 100% percent right and that he isn't going to do anything for anyone. Since no-one has asked him to do anything that could pass for an Alrighty Then! Of course I don't expect that to be the end of it but there maybe a few days of peace.

Ok Phranque, you've got me thinking, scary I know.
    OK,

    1. Do Nudist Colonies have Nursing Homes????

    2. What do you do when a nudist gets a dementia illness?

    3. Who invented hospital Johnnies and why must they be so ugly?

    4. Children love to run naked, so it only make sence that as our loved one return to their childlike state, that they once again want to run naked!
  17.
    1. No barefoot people do not get Alzheimer's..proven fact
    2. The nudist forgets to get undressed.
    3. Johnnies were invented by a caregiver named Sally, and she made them ugly to take her revenge on having to care for Johnnie.
    4. Naked children are the reason that men get arrested for child porn. Anyone supporting this is a pervert.
