Tonight I am taking my wife to the Poinsettia Ball, a fund raiser for the local hospital. I'm not sure how she will do, so we are staying overnight at the hotel where the ball is held (it's a one half hour drive from home, and snowing). I had planned not to go, but the other couples we usually sit with insisted that we make the attempt. She has gained so much weight lately that she no longer fits in the dress she usually wears for this, so I have had to improvise. I hope it works. I'll give a follow-up report tomorrow.
Good luck, Marsh. I hope and pray everything will go well, that you both will enjoy your evening out - and I'm sure your improvisation on the dress, will look fine. Have fun!
You and she will do just fine. And, that's a great idea to stay in the hotel. Just wonderful. I know your innovation for her dress will do well. Please let us know how it all turns out. Blessings!
Thanks for all your good wishes. The party went very well. DW seemed to enjoy listening to the conversations, and particularly the music. We tried dancing (which she has always enjoyed), but I have 2 left feet and with her walking problems due to AD we didn't do well, so we just listened to the music and watched the other dancers. Her "outfit" also looked good - black skirt, white blouse, with a blue scarf we bought in Russia.
I was going to add for the guys out there, who may have to deal with dressing their wife for something special...like all us females, do!! do black-the famous little or (not so little:)) dress, and your BEST jewelry/pearls is esp nice with black!..works everytime for special occasions..:)divvi wedding funeral black tie, you name it works:)
Great Job, Marsh! We recently went to our grandson's wedding, also stayed in hotel etc. Unfamiliar places are challenges as we all know. The very very BEST part of the whole thing was the reception and watching DH DANCE with each of our daughters (one, the mother of the groom). It was so special and he looked so handsome. Glad to hear that your poinsetta evening went well!
