I just wanted to check in and say hi. The flight was smooth and arrived early. Sid is doing okay so far. Very quiet, which is unusual for him, but he is happy as can be because he as been playing with Rufus, my sister's 7 month old black lab puppy, all day.
Glad things are going well. Have a wonderful time. (And no, nobody is checking up on you to see if you relax and take some time off for yourself. Hah!)
Well, technologically, when you don't know what you are doing, nothing works right. And right now, nothing is working correctly. If I ever figure it out, I'll post a new blog. If not, I'll e-mail it to Joel, and he will post it. In the meantime, I am thinking about taking a nice long walk, except that it's 40 degrees out, which is 40 degrees less than home. Hmmm, my sister has some walking DVD's down here in her huge family room basement. That's an option.
It's quiet here now. My sister and brother -in-law are at work, so it's just Sid, my brother-in-law's mother, and me. And the puppy.Sid seems fine watching tv. I'm sure he'll be okay when the gang gets here on Thursday. That would be 2 nephews, 2 nieces-in-law, and 2 more dogs.
Sometime today (Wednesday) or tonight, check the home page - www.thealzheimerspouse.com - for my Thanksgiving blog. My techno California son said he would post it for me, while I am at my sister's trying to figure out the web design program that was installed on my laptop. It's different than what I'm used to, and I cannot find what I need to post blogs.
It's wonderful being here with my sister, but 2 years living in Florida has wimped me out. I cannot stand this freezing weather. My nose looks like Ruddolph, and I haven't even been outside! I have to go turn the heat up.
My brother-in-law took Sid out to do errands with him - he's been doing very well since we arrived.
I wrote a blog for today (Friday), but I don't know if or when Joel will post it for me, so just keep checking the home page. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Quite a treat to see the nephews and nieces-in-law. Sid has been happy and relaxed. We're headed home tomorrow, which is a good thing, because Sid's joints are starting to freeze. We're missing the warm Florida sun, as I sit here in a sweater with a blanket around my shoulders. My sister does have some exercise dvd's that I COULD use - they would warm me up, but I'm kind of lazy today.
Since today starts the frenzied shopping season, please check out the Amazon specials on my home page and I will continue to add new items to Joan's Marketplace. You can get support on the Message Boards, read the blogs and news updates, and shop all from the same place.
