Hi Sandy. Your trip to Italy sounded fantastic. How do I get my husband to fly with me to Las Vegas. I think it would be wonderful while he can still get around fairly well. How can I persuade him to go? Please give me some ideas? Anyone?
Jeanette, it depends on what stage he's in. Did he go to Vegas before AD so he would have good memories of the city? If not, is there an entertainer there you want to see and can get tickets for - so you can tell him you two are going to see so-and-so in Vegas? You could tell him you want the two of you to make some good memories, and see if that works for you. If he isn't one who enjoyed travel before AD, he might be afraid to go now. Some are more comfortable at home.
With my husband, if he sees me get in the car for anything but going to work, he jumps in! Today my daughter and I were going to Sam's and my grandson was going to stay home with him, but he jumped in the car and wouldn't budge, so we took him with us, in dirty clothes! I brushed him off when we got there, so no one but us knew, but still...... <grin> If you say "go" to him, he'll say "yes" every time. To him, "go" means fun, so he's always glad to go. Usually I do all the planning and preparations for our trips and an hour before we are to leave tell him that it is time to get ready to go, and he'll bathe, shave, and dress and go. It doesn't matter where!!
My sis in law is begging me to take DH with us to vegas for 2nites. we had planned to go on a cruise, fizzled out, then vegas during summer by ourselves, fizzled out =lost my caregiver as last minute-sigh- so now she says she will help me care for him...vegas is a town with lots of lights and activity and going on---i doubt my DH could stand all that hustle and bustle going on around him now./and i kinda worry about the flight too, never know when they can get ansy-=..i just have to find the right person to leave him with again so i can go with her myself!:)...if your DH can still enjoy being out and like mary says loved to travel why not go?? our last trip was 2yrs ago and DH did very well then and smiled alot.. if nothing else find a sitter and a friend a go yourself while you can! divvi
I got mine to go by ordering a pair of CHER tickets, When I ordered them I told them that I would need handicap accomodations and they put us in a box. It was great, he was happy and he was very happy to go. However, I did have to upgrade to business class so he would not be so claustrophopic on the plane. However, I forgot to take the portable DVD player on the plane and I will never forget that again. He ate snacks for the whole 6 hour flight. Thank goodness for patient flight attendants.
