I happened to hear today a discussion on the NPR Here and Now show about a "bank" of athlete's brains. The idea is that sport concussions (and TBIs and concussions in battle) cause insults to the brains, and that examining the brains of athletes might be a source of seeing dementia symptoms. It was very interesting. The idea is that the more they can examine such brains, the more they'll know about how to identify abnormalities and hence maybe help in the AZ early-identification/ treatments.
