Our member, Kitty, has had an accident. She broke both elbows, and has casts on both arms. As you can imagine, she is unable to type, although I did get an abbreviated, text type e-mail from her. She will be back on the boards when she is healed.
Oh Kitty, so sorry. We're going to miss your posting. Hope things go Ok with DH while you're going through this. We're all wishing you a speedy recovery.
OMGoodness, Kitty!! How horrible!! I do hope you can manage...I am just sitting here thinking how it would be for me if that happened...I hope you will have some help for your husb, but also for YOU!! Prayers & "get healed soon" wishes are flowing my from house to yours!! xoxo
Just adding that I really hated to hear about your accident, Kitty. So sorry. I do hope you have some help with things. Gosh, I've always thought a worst case scenerio would be a 'body cast' but heck, two elbow casts is getting darn close! Oh mercy..Just hope you can get comfortable somehow. Yikes.
Kitty, I am so sorry to hear about your fall and your broken elbows! I hope that you were given adequate pain medication and that you are able to have someone to help you! I can't imagine your hubby having to help you dress each day, and furnish the meals, and take care of everything for you with his illness! My prayers are with you and I am hoping that you have a close friend or relative to come to your rescue!

Kitty I broke my elbow last year and the inability to do simple things with one arm like combing your hair was horrible. Hugs and Blessings. I hope you will heal real soon.
They sawed my casts off today and created custom made splints which I can remove as needed. Still in a lot of pain, & also injured my tail bone.
I was at my high school reunion, dancing in rubber soled shoes, turned & twisted my ankle & fell backwards. All I could think was, I have on black pantyhose, a black skirt & WHITE
Kitty, glad to hear you are doing better! what a mishap for sure. bet they wont forget your white panties..heheeh...my mom always says to dress in the morning like you would be going to the ER:)just in case. hope things are good for you now. divvi
Kitty. I wouldn't worry about the white panties. Would be nothing like having a baby in public......
I fell leaving one of our class reunions, tripped over a concrete thing in the parking lot. Very embarassing, broke a bone in my leg....I am so clumsy..
Just got home from a short trip Kitty. So sorry to hear about your accident. Hope the pain goes away soon. Take care and know we are all thinking about you. I loved reading your comments to many different discussions.
Kitty I hope they are giving you lots of pain medication. A few years ago I stepped backward off a dining room chair and hit my tail bone I never knew something so little could hurt so much.
Thanks for asking! The level where I have to hold my arms to type is not good pain wise, but at least I can now type. Yesterday I realized that most of the pain has subsided. :-) The worst was my tail bone. I have been walking like a little old lady. (Or Frankenstein as my husband would say.) Even my cat has stayed away from me :-(
The greatest thing is to be able to be able to use utensils again to eat with. And to get my fork up to my mouth with my right hand. I think in another week I will be able to drive again. I can really relate to the not being able to drive issue.
I have tried to be as inactive as possible to speed my recovery.
