For those of you worried that your spouse may drive, there is a wonderful trick that most people are not aware of...
Newer cars have a special "Chip" imbedded inside the key.....I replaced m dw's key with a regular key that did not have the chip. It allows you to unlock the doors, and even put the key in the ignition, but the car will not start in most models. Some will start, but will kill the engine the minute it is taken out of park. If anyone needs assistance or advice, just let me know and I will give you more specific instructions. The keys are cheap ($2 to $3.00), and it is wonderful peace of mind incase your spouse takes the keys and decides to drive. I recently had forgotten about that, and my daughter grabbed the keys...she ran back in the house all panicked because the key would not even crank the engine..she thought the battery had died....and that is my story and I am sticking to it....
