Today I learned to always park in the handicap space when I go into WallMart and leave DH waiting in the car. I had several groceries to buy and was shopping a half hour. While in checkout I looked up and about had heart failure when I seen him coming in the store to go to the bathroom. He knew where he was and where the bathroom was. If I hadn't seen him come in I would have been really upset when I got to the car and he wasn't there. I would have had no idea where to start looking. Add to the above "Do not leave him over 10 min.". He moves so slow and is in too much pain to go far.
Imohr, i do the same thing but like you say for only 10min -but i use the childlock on back seat with DH and have him strapped with seatbelt on as well -i know its not ideal but sometimes they just wont budge out of the car..i literally run thru the store-and limit items to oneortwo only at a time. FYI-mine DID get out early on and wondered away from the pharmacy i went in to get his meds. in about 5min he was over 3blks away. talk about heart failure! i found him thankfully within minutes but he was already showing signs of anxiety and sweating et. unfortunately, most all of us will at some point find they cant be left alone at all even for short minutes just like us. divvi
