I have been on MC for 5 years. With my AARP supplement and very good health all expenses have been paid until this week. Every day I get a bill from recent doc visits claiming MC is denying payment as they are not my prime insurer. Believe it or not I got through to MC and then coordination of benifits. IRS informed MC that a former employer is claiming payment of my BCBS. NOT TRUE!!! I called former employer and he denies this. Any idea of what is going on? Changes have been made but I am stuck calling all billers to ask them to rebill. They've all been great about it.
Sounds l;ike you've been caught in a computer glitch. This kind of thing happened to us a few years ago. It can be straightened out. The billers will generally be very responsive. Unfortunately, you are the one who will have to do the contacting and instigating to get it fixed. The quicker you pin down the source of the problem and get them to issue the disclaimer of primary insurer (sounds like you're on to that)the sooner Medicare will accept the bills.
With our situation, a company was bought out by another and when moving all the files to the new company's computer system, the old/closed files were recorded as active in the new computer.
I sympathize. Good luck. This may take some time, but is fixable.
