Hello, all. I am 55 and my husband just turned 60 this week. We met and were married 8 years ago after his retirement from a long career in the Army. He was diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer’s two years ago, but has been experiencing symptoms for several years. I noticed small things when we met, but it seemed like normal aging. He is very skilled at compensating. I am honored to be his caregiver, but it’s been a long and arduous road. It will only get more difficult. I haven’t been able to find a regular support group, certainly not one specific to spouses. We are in San Antonio and have many services in place for him. I need something for myself.
