    I find I'm spending too much time on the computer as it is.

    My son says that creating a facebook profile will leave me open to a lot of unwanted email.

    You just don't put the right info on there. You can also use the name Mary75. I know many that use other names. My daughter uses a fake name. You can put a fake phone number in, email address even birthday. And then never post anything on your FB page. The only thing you would read is our group which will show up on your FB page but no one will see it but you (or anyone with access to your page like if you son did).
