JOAN’S BLOG – FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2009 – SUPPORT FOR OUR MEMBER NANCY

One of the side benefits that have come from this website are the friendships that have been formed among members. Strangers who have “met” on the message boards have formed close friendships through e-mails and phone calls. Some of us have met each other in person. It is part of this site of which I am very proud.

Spouses truly do understand each other as no one else can, and when there is no one to listen to us; to empathize with us; to offer support from an experienced hand, we step in and comfort one another.

It is because of these “actual” and “virtual” friendships that I ask you to reach out with all of your hearts and souls to Nancy, who is battling serious cardiac issues of her own, providing care for her husband, whose AD has caused him to be insensitive and hurtful to her, and whose precious granddaughter is fighting for her life. No one should have to deal with ONE of these stressful situations, never mind all THREE of them.

Nancy needs our support. I am requesting that you help in two ways. First, log onto http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kristinabecker, and read Nancy’s grandaughter’s story, follow her progress, and leave a message in the guestbook. Secondly, CLICK HERE to leave messages of support to Nancy on our message boards.

You have come through countless times for our members in need, the last time for Mary, when  her adult daughter, Diane, suddenly and tragically lost her life. I know you will give Nancy the support she needs.

Post your comments under Heart Disease and a Broken Heart.

Thank you.
