JOAN’S WEEKEND BLOG SEPT. 19/20– BOOK PROJECT UPDATE – IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR EVERYONE

There is nothing like moving to set you back on deadlines. I never planned to move in the middle of my book project, but I did not want to lose out on getting the Independent Living Villa, so all other plans were put on hold.

We are ready to go on the book project. (Regardless of the fact that I now have TWO garages filled with junk.)My editor, publisher, and I have been in regular contact on timelines, so now it is your turn to be updated.

My original plan was to have the book ready for the February Caregiver Cruise. I would rather push that deadline forward than rush the book, and not have it reflect the quality my readers and I expect.

For those who have submitted stories:

1. You will be receiving an e-mail from me informing you if your story has been accepted.
2. Some of you may receive requests to expand on details in your story and re-submit it to me before I send it to the editor.
3. PERMISSION FORMS – No story can be included in the book without following the instructions and signing the permission form. You will be asked to submit a HARD COPY and NON RETURNABLE pictures along with the permission form.
4. If you have any questions, please e-mail me immediately at joan@thealzheimerspouse.com 

For those who have NOT submitted stories, but would still like to:

1. We will accept new stories via e-mail, no later than October 1, 2009
2. We are currently looking for a humorous incident on your Alzheimer journey that taught you something important about Alzheimer’s Disease or life. We will still consider more stories that follow the original guidelines that can be accessed by clicking here. 

Anonymity – Please remember that if requested, your identity can be kept completely anonymous.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted a story – They made me laugh; they made me cry; they made me reflect. What more could one ask for in a great book?
