JOAN'S BLOG - TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2008 - HOW MUCH TORTURE CAN I ENDURE?

As I mentioned in the announcement at the top of the page, we will be out all day with Patrick from the Caregiver Cruise. In the meantime, I am asking your help in getting me through the stress  of Sid’s reaction to the end of his driving. Honestly, I am so worn out from his irrational rants, that I am sapped of strength. I feel like a wet dishrag. I cannot take much more of it.

The counseling (see blog below) helped in that he realizes he has to accept it, but he is not done with punishing me over it. I would like to know if anyone else has had to endure this - accusations of stabbing him in the heart, conspiracy theories (You and all of your Alzheimer friends did this to me!), rages, tears, and denigrating, demeaning remarks towards me in public in an effort to take back the control he feels he has lost. Just wondering if I have been singled out for this honor, or if anyone else has been through this. Post remarks under, what else but “The Driving Issue.”  Thank you.
