JOAN’S WEEKEND BLOG – NOVEMBER 22/23, 2008 – CHICAGO BOUND I want to keep you up to date on my plans for the website while I am turning into a frozen popsicle next week in Chicago. Thanks to technology and my new laptop, complete with the web design software I need to post blogs, you will continue to see blogs next week. It is my nature to be organized, so I have all of the travel documents ready. I even put them in the order in which they will be used. Parking reservation first; boarding passes next; car service reservation next; and so forth. I follow all of the advice I gave in the travel blog. I always warn Sid ahead of time if I know something is going to happen that will agitate him. We are leaving from the Orlando airport, which is a 2 hour drive from here, but it had a non-stop flight, and I ALWAYS book non-stop flights. There is just no way I am going to deal with a wheelchair (which Sid needs, because he cannot walk far) and trying to catch a connecting flight with an AD husband whose moods change on a dime. The fact that I am doing the driving to Orlando will automatically put him in a miserable mood. He has admitted that as long as he is not allowed to drive, he will make my life a living Hell in retaliation. Oh joy. However, I do have high hopes that visiting with my sister, brother-in-law, and our nephews and nieces-in-law, along with everyone’s tail wagging dogs, will put him in a good mood. And if it doesn’t, I am going to ignore him, because I am planning on having a jolly good time. Except for the frozen popsicle part. On Sunday night, I will post a blog for Monday, and then you will probably hear from me again sometime on Tuesday. The message boards are always open for you 24/7. We are going to a pot luck party Saturday afternoon, and will be packing sweaters and sweatshirts on Sunday. I wish everyone a peaceful and pleasant weekend. ©Copyright 2008 Joan Gershman Feedback to joan@thealzheimerspouse.com View Printer Friendly Version
